Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, October 30, released the 24th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme from Bhildi in Gujarat's Banaskantha district, sending Rs 2,000 each into the bank accounts of eligible farmers across the country. According to the Prime Minister's Office, the instalment is worth about Rs 19,000 crore. At the same event, he laid foundation stones, inaugurated and dedicated development projects worth more than Rs 14,000 crore, ranging from two Ahmedabad Metro extensions to new Anganwadi centres and farm infrastructure.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said another instalment had reached the accounts of the nation's farmers and called the country's annadatas one of its strongest pillars.

Projects worth Rs 14,000 crore for Gujarat
Ahmedabad Metro and a wider highway
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for Ahmedabad Metro Phase-2A, an airport extension of over 6 km with five stations from Koteshwar Road to the Airport, and Phase-2B, a GIFT City extension of over 3.3 km with three stations from GIFT City to Shahpur. He also laid the foundation for widening the Ahmedabad-Mehsana Road (State Highway-41) from four lanes to eight, at a cost of around Rs 2,600 crore, to cut travel time between Ahmedabad and north Gujarat.
Dairy, cattle breeding and farm infrastructure
Earlier in the morning, he visited an Embryo Transfer Technology-In Vitro Fertilisation laboratory and dedicated to the nation the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre at Bhildi. Spread over 127 acres, it is the country's first facility of its kind dedicated to the Kankrej breed, and the government says it can speed up breed improvement by 10 to 20 times.
Other projects include two Banas Dairy Bio-CNG plants at Tharad and Radhanpur, with capacities to process 75 and 100 tonnes of cattle dung a day, 521 completed projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund worth around Rs 4,950 crore, an expanded potato processing plant at Sanadar, and an automated storage system for UHT products at Palanpur. Work also began on 12 approved horticulture clusters covering about 1.46 lakh hectares, which are expected to benefit over 1.3 lakh farmers.
Anganwadis and new trains
The Prime Minister laid foundation stones for 4,030 new child-friendly Anganwadi centres and inaugurated 361 completed ones, an investment of about Rs 800 crore expected to benefit more than 4 lakh people. He also flagged off the Ahmedabad (Sabarmati)-Varanasi Express and the Mehsana-Becharaji-Sabarmati MEMU service.
What it means for farmers
For small and marginal farmers, the Rs 2,000 instalment arrives at a useful time, with rabi sowing under way in many states and the festive season running into Diwali. Many use the money for seeds, fertiliser or diesel. In Gujarat, the focus on dairy, cattle breeding and Bio-CNG reflects how central milk has become to farm incomes in districts such as Banaskantha.
What happens next
From Banaskantha, the Prime Minister travels to Ekta Nagar in Kevadia, where he is scheduled to inaugurate Bharat Parv 2026 on Friday evening. The festival of states' culture, food and crafts runs until November 15. On Saturday, October 31, he will pay floral tributes at the Statue of Unity, launch projects worth over Rs 400 crore in Ekta Nagar and lead the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations marking the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
