November begins tomorrow, and like every new month it brings a set of changes that touch household budgets, pensions and paperwork. Some are routine, like the monthly LPG price review. Others are one-time deadlines that can cost you money if missed. Here is a simple guide to what changes from Sunday, November 1, 2026, and what you should do about it.

1. LPG Cylinder Prices Will Be Revised

Oil marketing companies review cooking gas prices on the first day of every month. Any change in the price of the 19 kg commercial cylinder hits hotels, restaurants, dhabas and tiffin services first, and often shows up in what you pay when eating out. Domestic 14.2 kg cylinder prices are reviewed too, though they change less often.

What to do: Check the new rate on your gas company's app or website, or ask your distributor, on the morning of November 1. Also make sure your LPG connection's Aadhaar e-KYC is complete, since subsidised refills depend on it.

2. Pensioners: Life Certificate Window Opens

Central government pensioners below 80 years of age can submit their annual life certificate (Jeevan Pramaan) from November 1. Super-senior pensioners aged 80 and above have been allowed to submit since October 1. The deadline for everyone is November 30.

What to do: You can submit the certificate at your bank branch, through a doorstep banking service, or digitally using face authentication on the Jeevan Pramaan app. Do it early. Missing the deadline can delay your pension from December.

3. ITR Deadline for Audit Cases Is Now November 21

The CBDT had extended key dates for taxpayers whose accounts must be audited. The tax audit report deadline moved from September 30 to October 21, and the income tax return deadline for these taxpayers moved from October 31 to November 21, 2026, for assessment year 2026-27.

What to do: If you are a business owner or professional covered by tax audit, you now have three more weeks, but don't wait for the last day, when the e-filing portal usually slows down. This extension does not apply to everyone, and those with international transactions that need a transfer pricing report should check their separate deadline with a tax adviser.

4. New Annual Toll Pass for Locals

A new toll pass for people living near toll plazas comes into force from November 1. It costs Rs 1,500 a year and is meant for local residents living within 20 km of a plaza, who make frequent short trips through the same plaza.

5. Nandini Milk Gets Costlier in Karnataka

Households in Karnataka will pay Rs 8 more per litre for Nandini milk from November 1, after the state's milk federation announced a price increase.

6. Delhi's Curbs on Non-BS6 Vehicles

In Delhi, new restrictions on older non-BS6 vehicles take effect from November 1. Vehicle owners should check their vehicle's emission standard on the registration certificate before heading out.

What Is Not Changing Yet

The Union Cabinet's recent decision to ease disability pension rules, which lowers the disability threshold and removes the age limit, will not take effect on November 1. It will start only after the government issues fresh operational guidelines, so pensioners should not expect changes in their November payments.

What Happens Next

Keep an eye on official LPG rates on Sunday morning and on any further notifications from the CBDT before the November 21 deadline. December 1 will bring the next monthly fuel price review, and the life certificate window closes the day before.
