It is a big day for thousands of young doctors. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is set to release the NEET PG 2026 Round 1 provisional seat allotment result today, October 24, on its official website, mcc.nic.in. Candidates who registered, paid the fee and locked their choices in Round 1 will be able to see which MD, MS or DNB seat, if any, they have been allotted.
The result was earlier expected on October 23, but MCC's schedule placed it a day later after the seat allotment processing ran from October 22 to 23. No exact release time has been announced, so candidates should keep checking the website through the day.

How to check the NEET PG Round 1 result
- Go to the official website, mcc.nic.in, and open the PG Medical section.
- Click on the "NEET PG Round 1 Provisional Seat Allotment Result 2026" link once it is live.
- Log in with your roll number and password, or open the result PDF published by MCC.
- Check your allotted college, course and category carefully.
- Download the provisional allotment letter and keep several printed copies.
The first list is provisional. If you spot an error, raise it with MCC within the window given on the website before the final result is published.
Documents you will need while reporting
Candidates who are allotted a seat must report to the college between October 26 and November 2. Carry original documents along with self-attested photocopies:
- NEET PG 2026 admit card and scorecard or rank letter
- Provisional allotment letter issued by MCC
- MBBS degree or provisional certificate and all MBBS marksheets
- Internship completion certificate
- Permanent or provisional registration certificate from the NMC or a State Medical Council
- Government photo ID and date of birth proof
- Category certificate (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS or PwBD), if applicable
- Recent passport-size photographs
Some institutions may also ask for a medical fitness certificate, service bond or fee demand draft, so check the allotted college's website before travelling.
Freeze or float: what you need to decide
After the result, candidates with a seat must choose how to proceed:
- Freeze: You are happy with the seat. You physically report and join the allotted college and do not take part in further upgradation.
- Float: You accept the seat but want a chance at a better option in Round 2. You upload documents for online verification by the institute and stay in the race for upgradation.
Security deposits are refundable: Rs 25,000 for unreserved AIQ candidates, Rs 10,000 for SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates, and Rs 2 lakh for deemed universities. Exiting freely after Round 1 does not forfeit the deposit, but from Round 2 onwards, not joining an allotted seat can cost you that money. This makes the Round 1 decision particularly important.
What happens next: Round 2 dates

| Choice filling and locking | November 7 to November 12 |

Round 3 results are expected on December 4 and the stray vacancy round on December 24, according to the tentative schedule. Dates can change, so rely on notices published on mcc.nic.in.
